  • 2 Night Solo on Old Growth White Pine Island

Did a 2 night solo on some property I have never been able to reach during liquid water months. Trying new short format of description of trip on each photo.

Nice! Enjoyed the captioned photos. I like winter for the reason you described, too...often more access to more places. The photos of your tent makes me wanna eat beans and rice this summer to save up for a Snowtrekker. 😎 Heading out in a few minutes myself with my crew for our "last fling till spring" outing. Supposed to be a low of zero tonight, so we'll take it before temps hit 70 next week.

Very nice trip. I am envious of how lightweight your setup is. I am looking at getting a new winter tent for next year myself. My Snowtrekker is great, but very bulky and heavy.

It is a lot of work to do go winter camping solo with a hot tent, but I am really enjoying it. I know the Snowtrekker frames add weight, but I am so thankful for the ease of setup, not having to find or carry a center pole, and hot taunt you can get them every time. Are you thinking of an Esker?

I'm leaning more in the direction of a Cooke Custom Sewing tent or a Seek Outside Courthouse. The goal being a winter trip, mostly on skis on lakes, where I set up and take down every couple days.
