  • Water bottle poll

I just hgot an early Christmas present - a nice stainless steel Nalgene water bottle. Should I take it on my upcoming trip or should I leave it at home and take the old standard plastic bottle? The metal bottle fits my insulator, but I'm worried about my lips sticking to the metal in the cold. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

I've always used a stainless water bottle. never an issue with my lips sticking to it.

Nope, never. As long as the water isn’t frozen the bottle will be above freezing so not a problem.

I don't have a stainless steel water bottle but I can see the advantage to it over a plastic one since you could put it directly on your stove. Can't do that with plastic. If you get any ice in your new bottle, lay it atop the stove and it should melt right away.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

I’ve actually been looking at swapping my plastic Nalgenes out for metal ones for the reasons given above. Good stuff. 👌
