  • Easy DIY toboggan wannigan

Click image for larger version Name:	20190120_144840.jpg Views:	0 Size:	7.17 MB ID:	156Heres a quick way to get a cheap and light weight tote or wannigan for a standard width toboggan.

    Plano sportsman's small trunk
4 kayak padeyes pop riveted to the lid, evenly spaced
    1/8" shock cord 5ft long
    1ft of paracord

I fastened the padeyes to the lid so I could keep items from blowing away while situating things, it's not really meant for securing gear while traveling. I fastened a small loop of paracord to keep the lid from blowing away or getting lost. These totes are strong enough to support a large person's weight easily. Thought I'd share!

All said and done, these cost me $25 each.

Those boxes are great! We used one for the same purpose, but that lashing is brilliant! And yes -- they're a great size, lightweight, mouse-proof and super sturdy. And when I was in Fleet Farm a couple weeks ago, they were on sale for less than $15!

My buddy's rig... he got to haul the kitchen!

We use Rubbermaid totes. It’s pretty straightforward to put some reinforcing inside at the ends and then a removable plank across the box, just under the lid. Once this is done they are strong enough to sit upon provide you don’t place them too close to the wood stove! You can also run shock cord through the box handle and up over the lid.
