Amenities/FAQs
First of all, a little bit about Camp Miller: The camp is located in a pristine 340 acre White Pine forest along the shoreline of beautiful Sturgeon Lake, 45 miles south of Duluth and less than two hours north of the Twin Cities. It is the 6th oldest camp in the nation.
The camp offers onsite showers, one heckova hot tub, and even a sauna which is conveniently open during all hours of the symposium.
Rustic Cabins are available with or without bathrooms.
The camp's kid friendly rock climbing tower will be open on Saturday.
We have plenty of cut pine and birch to burn in your stoves, but most of it will need to be split. Pre-split wood however, will be available to purchase.
The event officially begins on Thursday and goes through Sunday. Registrants can come one day and or night or all of the days and the same fees apply. Pre-registration through this site is not mandatory, but it is helpful in the planning. To note: You CAN just show up!
The annual Gear Swap is a great place to pickup new "experienced gear" and to unload some of the gear that you no longer use. Many gear manufacturers bring last year's extras and next year's prototypes.
This will be a silent auction format
This year, we are also going to try to settle the "Best Camp Saw" debate by encouraging everyone to bring their favorite saw to the "Saw Off"! This will give everyone a chance to try various types of saws.
